Today has been a day of adjustments. The day started out as usual; get up, get ready for work and go to work. I get to work about 7:00 AM and looking at my schedule, I am going to be fairly busy. That is always good because then the day will go quickly.
About 8:30, our manager calls a mini meeting for all staff. This is not something that happens on a regular basis. So we meet in the workroom( there are only about 9 employees) and we had a surprise attendee to the meeting. The V.P of the company was there as well. Okay... mini meeting.... for everyone..... Big Boss..... Oh Dear....
So.... The VP gives us the speech about "reimbursements are down... and costs are up..... and in order to keep all the centers that the company owns open, they are going to have to make cuts".
(I am so sweating now....)
He continues, " All employees are going to have to take a mandatory 7% paycut!! Oh Lordy!!!
Calculations are going on in my head.... "7% paycut.... How much is that a year.... How much is that a month?.... Let's see.... This will be very tight..... (Remember hubs is still looking for a job.... receiving unemployment...) But when all is said and done.... I am soooo Grateful that I still have a job. Praise the Lord!! He is in control!!

this darned economy!! My husband just went back to work after almost 6 months out of work. I work for the state, so as stressful as it is, I tell myself it is job security. Hang in there. Seriously, it will be over eventually. And, I had to cut back on my crafting, and that was stressful too...
You are right... this too shall pass. Too bad about the crafting cutback..... :(
Crafting is a great stress reliever!
That is definitely not news you were hoping to hear. I hope management took cuts as well.
Management "said" they were taking the same paycut as well.
