The Last Few Days

Have been really busy! After I got home from work Wednesday evening, my daughter came over.  She is currently applying  to get in a Nurse Practitioner's program.  She has her BSN, but now she want to go further in her career field.   Getting back to Wednesday evening, she brought her application essay over for me to proof. It was a nice to visit with her while she was here (it is rare to have one of your grown children all to yourselves).  Her paper did not need much tweaking, so it did not take long to go over.

Thursday night I had the opportunity to see the play "West Side Story"!!!   It was only in town one week and a friend was able to get a great price on tickets! The stage production is definitely a must see.  The music, the costumes, the story (Romeo and Juliet played out on the streets of New York), it was just wonderful. A late night by the time I got home, but it was definitely worth it.

Yesterday, a busy day at work was followed by a mad rush to get home so I could straighten up the house.  The family that is interested in renting out house was coming over to see it.  I threw things in the closet, shoved stuff in the dryer, and crammed more odds and ends under the bed.  It looked great!  Until the renter wanted to look in the closets..... oopsie!!  It all worked out... they really liked the house and are willing to wait until we get the new house.

Today, I took my grandson to a friend's sons birthday party.  It was at a place called Birthday World, and it is like a mini carnival with rides and games for young kids.  Well organized and lots of fun for all the kids.  We came back to the house, and he had a nap and so did I.

Tonight is an early bed time and the plan is to get up early and get things done around here!

40 Days Unto My Vacation!!

Yes, I am counting down the days to my vacation. In October, I will be going to Las Vegas!!
It is a week of fun with my girlfriends from work. We have planned the major parts of our itinerary, and will be seeing a couple of the bigger shows!

I have been to Las Vegas before, but I went the economy route. This time, not so much. We are booked to see Celine Dion, the Cirque De Soile show "O" AND we are also taking a jet helicopter from Las Vegas INTO the Grand Canyon, have lunch and Fly back to Las Vegas.

All of the above is payed for already, I just have to move some money around to cover spending expenses and gambling expenses. I know, I should save the money, but you know I just want to go and have fun.

So there it is,,, I am off to Las Vegas in 40 days and I am going to have a blast!!

Girls Night Out

Tonight the women in my family are going out on the town! My mom, my daughter and myself are going to see the play "The Lion King". This is a part of my mom's Christmas present. We are all looking forward to seeing it, as we have heard nothing but wonderful things about the play.

My mom is taking us out for a nice dinner and then we will be off to the show. We really don't get out like this very much. Usually we go to work, and go home. A fairly boring or simple way of living. Why is that? Am I learning or repeating my mom's example or am I just that way? I don't know. Anyway, I am looking forward to getting out and haveing fun with just the girls!
