It was a big day for our dogs Princess and Cricket. They got to meet their new Veterinarian and get updated on their shots. Poor dogs, they get so excited to get to go in the car, and then as we get closer to the vets office they are as nervous as cats in a room full of rocking chairs!
It probably looked like the circus was coming to town when I was trying to get the dogs out of the car and not lose my purse, glasses or phone. I only dropped my glasses. Twice. Of course the girls had to bolt to the nearest tree and sniff and pee. After that they were a bit easier to manage.
Both dogs were tested for heart worms and thankfully they are negative. My foster pups are heart worm positive and they have to take pills twice a day for 60 days. For two office visits ( both dogs) exam, blood work, two shots each and a monthly heart worm preventative they charged me $250.00.
I thought that was pretty good! I called around and other vets wanted big bucks just for an office visit. I will go back next month and get their monthly preventative for heart worms, probably enough until the end of the year. That will be about 15.00 dollars a month. At the end of the year, they will both be getting their 3 year rabies shot.
Both dogs were exhausted after all that excitement and we all had to come home and take a power nap!
Here is what else I did today!

Tuesday's Mini Goals and Remembering
Does it seem like it has been 11 years since the World Towers went down? Remembering those who lost their lives that day and their families. Of course I remember exactly where I was when the event happened. And I watched the event play over and over on TV for days. It was all I could watch....in total disbelief. Prayers for our nation. Amen.
Today is another day of errands and getting things done. For my part time job at the college, I have to get my medical history up to date. This includes vaccinations. Yesterday, I was able to get in to see my doctor for a physical and a flu shot. Today I am off to the county health department to start my MMR (measles mumps rubella) series of shots and Varicella (chicken pox) series of shots. Yeah, not looking forward to that at all.
The cost of the shots is a bit of a shocker. The MMR will total out at about 200.00 for both and the Varicella will be another 150.00 for both. Budget buster for sure! Well, budgets are always having to give and take. I wonder is the shots are a tax deduction since they are work related?
Then it is off to the dog groomer for our Papillion, Cricket. She is getting a bit to shaggy and needs a clipping. Another budget category I forgot to put in the budget. There is going to be a lot of revision in the budget this month.
After the shots and the groomer, I will come back home, put dinner in the crockpot and list a few things on eBay. And then off to work at the college.
All in all, it is going to be a busy day!
Hope you all have a great Tuesday!

Reading? I must confess, I don't read much at all when it comes to books. I do a lot of research online regarding eBay items and selling on eBay, so if that counts, I do A LOT!
Watching? Just finished watching Ax Men. Love that show. Shelby, the logger in the Louisana swamps is my favorite.
Listening to? Pandora. The Norah Jones channel.
Cooking/Baking? Getting back in the groove of baking bread again. I missed that.
Happy you accomplished this week? I started walking again. That is a really big deal! I think it will help my knees to keep moving.
Looking forward to next week? Going to hang out with my grandson at SeaWorld again. Love that place.
Thankful for today? I am thankful for the beautiful weather we are having. I am also thankful for the time I get to spend with my family. Life is good.
Hope your week was great too!

The Latest Purchase.....
Well,
I have 3 grown children, and six step grandchildren. The grand kids are truly wonderful and I love them dearly. But I am feeling maternal and really want biological grandchildren. Selfish?? Probably. But honest.
Each grown child is at a stage that is not conducive to me getting what I want. One is going through a long painful separation/divorce. The middle is married to an older woman ( I love her dearly) with 5 kids. Will he have children with her? I don't know. My daughter is married and is a full time nursing student. She has no time for starting a family yet.
So what about me? Well, I have added to our family with the purchase of Papillion puppy.
She is adorable and melts your heart.
She also is quite like having a baby in the house again. Early mornings to walk her, coming home for lunch to let her out to potty.....
The demands are many but the returns are even more.
What it boils down to is that you need to be careful for what you wish for!!
The puppy was a gift, but of course the accessories are going to be another catagory in my budget.
