Front Yard with our Dogs |
We decided to bring our bed over to my mom's house because her oncologist has decided to move forward with her radiation treatments this month. Currently, mom lives just about 5 minutes from the hospital and since she will be going every day for 15 consecutive visits it makes more sense to stay here. Also, her church family will be helping out taking mom to and from her radiation appointments. ( I cannot say enough wonderful things about her church family, they have been awesome to our family!) This is good in two ways. She can visit with her friends and I don't have to find a sitter for my dad so I can take her.
The plan is still to move my parents out to our house ( 30 minutes away) after her treatments. She is excited about the move, but is in agreement about staying here for now. This is working to our advantage as my kids and husband still have to get their rooms ready at my house. There is painting to be done on two bedrooms and we are remodeling a bathroom to make it more user friendly (taking out tub and installing shower) for mom and dad. These are the projects that are to be completed within the next few weeks. Fingers crossed!
Tomorrow is the first day of the 10 pound weight loss challenge
at Newlyweds On a Budget. Yes, I have joined yet another challenge. Stop on over and check it out. Lots of great prizes for the winner(s)!

Nothing is the same as sleeping in your own bed! Hope the treatments go well for your mom.
Glad that you will be able to sleep in your bed! Couches tend to be unforgiving.
Good luck in the challenge!
Remember that oncologists will always move forward with their treatments. Look carefully t your mom and her quality of life. Doctors are not engaged in that aspect most of the time.
Praying for you.
Sleep well.
I think it is awesome how much you have been helping your mom through this time. Sadly, there are families that aren't close like this. I am glad you will now have a better place to sleep and keep up your stamina so you can be strong for your mom.
I hope everything gets better for your mom.
OMGoodness it's been 5 weeks already Lisa? Hardly seems possible. So happy for you to be sleeping in your own bed again - I have a hard time sleeping anywhere but in my own bed! Your family (and church family) have made good sensible plans for your mom and dad. It sure helps to have support during a time like this - oh, and I love your VIEW!
Having your own bed is VERY important! I would think the couch would definitely not be comfortable ; )
yay for losing weight!! and maybe making money? So excited you joined the challenge!
Rest is so important, especially when you are going through difficult times. Hope everything goes smoothly for your Mother.
I agree, quality rest is so important. Thanks for the well wishes for mom.
I knooowww.... I can hardly believe it has been 5 weeks either. Craziness!. Last night was a good night in our own bed. And yes, we are blessed by the support of our family and church family.
I love my view too! Can't wait to get back home.
Thanks Michelle.
Thanks Miss T. Our family is blessed to be close. I am grateful for my husband and kids who have made it so much easier.
Good point Bowen4flag. Thanks for your prayers. Much appreciated.
Hi Pam,
Sleeping in our own bed last night was wonderful. Ahhh.
Nice! Sometimes a good night's sleep helps put a different perspective on the battles of the day! Thinking of you.
There is nothing like sleeping in your own bed! I hope your sleep has improved because it is so important. Also, Good luck in the 10-pound challenge!
Having our bed here at my mom's has been such a blessing! Thanks, I hope to do very well in the challenge.
Sleep can definitely do that. :)
