Birthday Bargains

Today was one of my best friend's 60th Birthday.  I helped her daughter with a Surprise 60th Birthday Party.... and she was definitely surprised.  Yesterday, I took her out to lunch at Olive Garden but before that I had to run out and get her a gift.  She is a big jewelry fan, and recently got her hair cut sassy and short.  She recently expressed that she needed some new earrings to accentuate her new hair cut. I went to JC Penny's and they were have a great sale! I found her two cute pairs of earrings with a regular price of $18.00 and $15.00.  There were on clearance and then there was a markdown on clearance!!  The final price for both pairs was $5.91!!!  What a deal!    I also included two of the " vanilla icing" Yankee candles and I did find a cute votive holder at the Dollar Store to put in the bag too.  All in all, I thought I did pretty good gift wise.

Now lunch at Olive Garden... that is a different story.  The waitress was offering a taste of a new wine, (Roscato) and it was delicious.  So...... I had her bring is a bottle ($24.00).  Oh yeah..... worth every penny. The total for lunch was $67.00 (includes tip)  and I donated $50.00 to her daughter towards the costs associated with the Surprise Party.  Oh well..... good thing I saved so much on the earrings, right?

She was sooooo surprised!

Love seeing a picture of you!! And I have to say I really like your friend's haircut - it's kinda like mine! It suits her and will showcase her new earrings perfectly! Sounds like a wonderful time:)
