It's Friday....

Well, Friday was not a "no-spend" day. Spending includes paying bills, and this morning I had to pay a couple of bills online.
Electric: 246.00 (I am on an average billing plan, and I still "owe" 399.00, so I expect that my average payment will increase the next quarter to compensate."
Phone: 46.00 ( this bill was late, I havent been late ever with my phone bill.)
Cable: 26.00.

So there you go,,, money spent on necessities. And I ordered a book online "All Your Worth" The Ultimate Lifetime Money Plan. The reason I ordered it was I was reading Life Goes On (see blogs i read....) And well, I LOVE money books. It was an impulse buy, but I think it will benefit me in the long run.

It may sound cliche, but have you set up a budget? Telling yourself that you won't spend anything on a given day can set you up for failure because it seems like deprivation. Maybe if you develop a budget and then give yourself a weekly allowance, it will make you feel more in control.

Thanks for you input, and yes I have tried to establish budget, and for the most part it works. Before I had "no-spend days" I would blow a lot of money on fast food and convinience store visits. I would debit card these expenses and "think" the expense would fit in my budget. For now a "no-spend" day lets me know that I can help my budget by bringing lunch from home.

You might try the Youneedabudget.com excel spreadsheet. I have used it for almost one year now and it's very forgiving because you are living off last month's income. The link to it is on my blog. It has definately changed how I 'budget' my money.
