Favicon Problems

I have been trying for what seems to be most of yesterday and some of this morning to successfully change the Blogger Favicon to my own Favicon. The Favicon is the little orange B that you see in the left corner of the web browser.  You may have noticed that when you visit other blogs that they have cute Favicons that represent their blog.  That is what I want.  All attempts have failed miserably. What seems like an easy process, as demonstrated at Happy Blogging is just not working for me.  Uggghhhh!!! Any suggestions or help would be welcome at this point.

If you figure it out, will you post directions? I'd love to change this on my blog, too.

Sorry I can't help you.

I just looked at it and tried it to no avail also.
It did say it could take awhile to work because of browser issues, but I don't think that is my problem.

I got it. Yay!
I was putting the code above head but it should have been /head, it is more towards the bottom.

That was the first time I've ever heard of a "favicon" so you are waaaay ahead of me (also a child of the 60's btw;). Looks like Niki figured it out though so yay! Several heads are better than one!
