Money Saving Mondays: The Goals

Evidently it is difficult for me to turn down a challenge.  This challenge is from Penny as The Saved Quarter Each week she is going to introduce themes that motivate you to stay on task for this challenge. Last year, Penny did an incredible job of saving a quarter of her family's income.  She is  married, a full time student,  and  a mom with two small children.  She saved 6000.00 last year!!  That is an amazing feat.  And she is going to do the same thing this year!

This week's theme is Goals.
My goal  for this year:   Pay off my credit card debt which is about 12,000.00 dollars

The credit card debt is a huge monkey on our back.  We are going to transfer the credit card balances    to a  no interest card for 24 months and make it a priority to get rid of the debt. That being said, we are in the process of buying a new home, and will be renting out out old home.  The home we have a contract on is a short sale, and you never know how long that can take.  While we are currently living at our old home, we will tighten our belts and throw all the money we can to our debt!  When we do get to move.... there will be some costs associated with that.  We do have some money put away for that purpose.

Penny is also having a Blogiversary giveaway with lots of great gift cards that now total 300.00 dollars.  This is a great way to get a jump on any upcoming birthdays, anniversaries or even Christmas!  She has a great blog that provides information that can help you save your money. Stop by and check it out, you won't be sorry!

I will be cashing in my Swagbucks for Amazon Gift Cards to use for future gift purchases.

Challenges are fun, and doing it with others makes it a bit easier! 11,500 is a lot of money, but you can do it!!

Thanks for pointing out Penny's site, it's been an interesting read!
