Wrapping Up the Weekend

The weekend was definitely busy!  Saturday we had choir practice at church and after that my husband went to help out one of the church deacon's.  The deacon was have problems with his heater and after a few minutes it was determined there was a short in the ............. yeah.... I am not really sure where there was a short, but there was a short in something.

Saturday afternoon, I did get to Aldi's and picked up a few things.  You can see the the picture above.  total spent was $69.00.  Not too bad, I should be able to make it last the next week and then some.  Saturday evening I did "homework" to get ready for my students on Monday.  Funny how much you "forget" what you originally learned.  There is definitely a lot of time going into this new job.  But I imagine that next year I will remember more and not have to re-study quite as much.  At least that is what I am counting on.

Yesterday after church, we went to lunch at Firehouse Subs.  It had been a long time since we went out to eat after church.  The subs were delicious!  After lunch, we went shopping for a new artificial Christmas tree.  This expenditure was not in the budget, but our old tree was lost in the move.....or I threw it away.  I am not sure which.

We first went to Big Lots  hoping to find a cute and inexpensive tree.  Well, they were inexpensive, but definitely not cute.  K-Mart was having a 50% off sale on most of their trees so we went there and after a few minutes we agreed on a new tree.  Interestingly enough, we both liked the "white" tree as opposed to a traditional green artificial tree. Oh..... and the sale price for this lovely tree was $80.00.  Sigh.....

The tree is up and partially decorated.  I will finish it tonight.  I have one two more gift calendars to complete.  Several more presents to wrap and maybe about two more gift cards to find.  I had hoped to get more done by now, but I am definitely way ahead compared to last year.

Have a great Monday!

Oh, I love Firehouse! Did you get the cherry limeade? It is the best! I haven't been there in years, I used to go all the time when we lived in FL.

Sounds like a good weekend.

Looks like you had a good run at Aldi's! I haven't shopped there in awhile but I need to get that back on my list of places to go, I really like the produce and you can't beat the price!

We regularly shop in Aldi which is only 5 minutes walk awy. But I didn't realise it had spread so wide! Their cold meats are particularly good, we find. Mind you we spashed out £40 on a lovely Christmas tree today and it is all up, lights and stuff thanks to our son any my sister-in-law who has come over to stay with us.

My wife went holiday shopping, but I did a little shopping online. I prefer it to running around.

Teaching only gets easier. Last year was my first year and it was incredibly difficult. Exponentially easier this year!
