Black Bean Brownies

I had to try it! As a tried and true choc-o-holic I had to try the black bean brownies that I read about at Jane4girls. I followed the EASY directions that Erin provided.

1. Rinse a can of black beans.

2. Put black beans back in can and cover with water.

3. Add the beans and water into blender and blend!

4. Add this mixture to the box of brownie mix and mix it up.

5. Put into a pan, I had to use a 8 inch round because the mix was for a smaller pan.

6. Bake according to the directions on the box. ( I had to add an extra 10 minutes)

7. Wow! The brownies are delicious. Hubs tried them and had no idea black beans were involved in anyway, shape or form. The brownies are very rich, and one little piece satisfies the chocolate craving!

Now that's a way to get veggies into a kid!

Ok I am going to have to try this one. Instead I go on the sweeter side and I add pureed strawberries instead of water and oil. Chocolate covered strawberries are the best. Why not strawberry brownies.

I will be trying these very soon! I've heard great things about black bean brownies, but haven't gotten around to trying them yet! Adding a box of brownie mix to my shopping list!

Coming over from the Frugal Food Thursday linky party!

I'm sharing Southwestern Potato Hash this week! Uses black beans, too!
