Last Friday, I Wrote A Letter To The Company President, telling him of my experience at his place of business. I wanted him to know how it felt for me to be in a work situation where I really was not wanted. I was a "Mis-Hire". A qualified competent tech but not the right tech for their facility. My length of employment was a mere 8 weeks.
So, I decided to let the company president know how this affected me, and I also suggested to him that two weeks severance pay would be in order. Well, I checked my bank account this morning ( a normal payday) and low and behold, I had a deposit from my previous employer for two weeks pay!!! I am thrilled beyond belief!!!
And yes, I will be writing the president a thank you note. It is the least I can do.

Yay! It never hurts to ask...you deserved it though, they treated you very poorly.
I agree on both points.
Thanks Judy!
Thanks, and I agree, it is the least he could do.
How wierd no one called to tell you. I was thinking it was hopeless in your earlier post but am so glad to be wrong.
awesome!!!!
Congrats! I guess this is why more and more people want to be entrepreneurs (to avoid having one's fate controlled in the hands of others).
I am so proud of you Lisa - asking for what you wanted in a forthright way as well as letting them know how it made you feel to be let go after a mere 8 weeks.
Good for you!
Thanks Jane! It felt good to get my feelings off my chest too! Felt pretty good to get a severance check as well.
Thanks! I certainly had no control over my situation. It was like watching a bad movie. But my remote could not change the channel.
It was weird that they did not communicate with me after the letter, but maybe they were embarrassed.
