Food Waste Friday: All Clear

I am happy to report that this week has been a great week as far as food waste.  The yucky slimy cucumbers and gooey mushrooms from last week are but a distant memory.   The primary reason that this week was so successful is that my husband is on second shift.  For me, this means I don't really have to prepare a large dinner.  And any left-overs were taken care of by me.

This has also helped my grocery bill. And if all goes as planned, next week should go the same way. I have to say  I enjoy having the house to myself in the evenings.  I really get a lot done.  The list of projects goes on and on but that is just the way it goes!

Have a great day!!

Well THAT's good news :) I'm on my own for a couple of days so I need to dig into the fruit and vegetable crispers and make sure nothing is rotting away down in there!

Awesome job! My hubs worked late this week too, but that ended up messing with me a little bit food wise because it was sort of unexpected and so hadn't planned around it.

Isn't it great when you don't have to cook and you can save money? I will eat cold cereal for dinner, or have toast with peanut butter.

Congratulations! Not cooking can be a mixed blessing. It can either mean that there's less chance for waste or you eat out. We tend toward the eating out option--not always the best thing.

No waste at our end either, I had the family over yesterday and they ate me out of house and home....

I think this is a great idea - we meal plan pretty well but I am sure there are things being "recycled" in the compost bin that could be made better use of. Time for a pad and pen and a peek in the fridge
