Sunday Night Chit Chat

Where my mom grew up

This has been a long week but we have all survived it!  Mom has been released from the hospital AND her brain issues are inflammation caused by the previous surgery to remove the basal cell cancer from her scalp.  Evidently the procedure irritated her brain enough to cause swelling which led to the loss of consciousness, unsteady gait, and hallucinations.  They gave her medication to reduce swelling and control seizures.   She is staying at our home to recover and get her strength back.

When I participate in Sunday Night Chit Chat, I look at the categories and wonder am I ever going to read a book again??  It has been years!!
  • Reading.  I am not reading anything, except maybe the paper.  Does that count?
  • Watching.  I am watching Oprah interview Daniel Day Lewis and Stephen Spielberg about the Lincoln movie.

  • Listening to...  I am still listening to Christmas music on Pandora.

  • Baking/Cooking.   This morning I made baked spaghetti for dinner tonight and I also baked some kale "chips"
  • Happy you accomplished this week.   Happy I finished getting the room for my mom cleaned and organized. She likes how it turned out too.

  • Looking forward to next week.   Getting back to a somewhat normal routine.  The college is back in session and I will be busy with scanning lab and visiting clinical sites.

  • What is the minimum # you feel comfortable with sitting in your bank account/piggy bank?  The minimum would be $5000.00.  I am not close to that amount yet, but I will definitely get there.

So happy to hear that your mom is now resting at home comfortably, Lisa. Hope she improves well from here on in! I'd love to have $5K minimum too... but i'm happy with a couple $K at the least... I can't imagine not having ANY extra cash set aside. We used to be like that and it makes me shake my head... crazy girl I once was! lol!!

I'm really happy to hear good news about your Mom and I hope she'll get even better soon! You made baked spaghetti: I haven't eaten that in ages! I'll put in on my to-do-list for this week ;)
