I Am Not A Beneficiary: Credit Union Update

Went to mom's credit union today and finally figured out who is NOT a beneficiary to her savings and CD's. Me. I will be getting nothing. On the other hand, my grown children will be splitting almost 260,000.00 dollars. And this does not include what is in the safety deposit box which mom did tell me does go to my kids.

Honestly, I am done. Just done. Goes to show ya, never count your chickens before the eggs hatch.
I am over my parents. Selfish? Oh yeah, probably. But remember, there are two sides to every story.
Will I be shipping their cremains up to Wisconsin and having them interred by the funeral director and be done with it all? Yes, I might just do that. Then I can let go for good and be happy.

Please go back and read your earlier posts about everything your Mom has left you and what it has allowed you to do (pay off house, debt, fund EF, her house as rental, etc). You have been given many blessings and the fact that you don't get everything doesn't diminish what you have been given. I'm sure there is a lot of family drama/back story but at the end of the day you get the bulk of her estate, which has changed your life. Don't forget all you did get just because you didn't get it all.

Your life certainly has been a roller coaster this past year. Take a deep breath and just breathe for a little while. Then consider what Sk and Carla have to say.

SK, thanks for your comments. I have been blessed. When growing up, my parents equated money with love. The post does sound selfish and self centered, but when "love" is money your whole life.... well I guess I was hurt by the whole thing. Oh well. Moving forward.....

Hi Carla, Thanks for your thoughts. I will be fine. It was an emotional blow. My parents treated money as love. I sure hope the kids use the money wisely too.

If "money = love" (and I DO completely understand that), monetary bequests benefitting your children is telling them she loves them, too.
