Merry Christmas Eve!

It is a beautiful day today.  The sun is out and the temp is about 60 degrees.  I have completed a few last minute errands that involved the grocery store (again) and checking up on my son J.  We have church tonight for Christmas Eve services, and tomorrow will be pretty laid back.  Of course, that could change with just a phone call!  Tomorrow night we are invited to a friend's house for Christmas Dinner.  I will be bringing my cornbread stuffing and  squash casserole.  The day after Christmas, December 26th, is our 32 wedding anniversary.  We plan on going out to dinner  and to the movies to see the new "True Grit" movie.

Later on I will be recapping my budget for this month.  I have been using Mint to keep track of my money, and well..... it's not a pretty picture.  I did go over budget in a couple of areas, but more about that later.  I do like using Mint to track my money.  It does keep me honest!

Oh, and I get home from my son's house and my husband is gone.  He left both of his cell phones so he can't be reached.  I hope he is not out shopping......we already exchanged gifts!

"Dear Lord....if he is shopping, let the gift be under 25.00 dollars.  Our Christmas budget is already off the charts! Amen"

I hope all of you have a Blessed and Merry Christmas~

Back on the Blog

It has been months since I last posted.  What happened?  Like everyone else, I was extremely busy with family, school and work.  Family issues in May were the most distressing for me.  My oldest son, (31) was a victim of random violence and was hospitalized for two weeks with a fractured skull and bleeding on the brain.  His first week was spent in a trauma unit.  He experienced a great deal of pain and had aphasia where when he talked the words he wanted to say were not the words that came out.  Very frustrating for him.  The swelling in his brain did not go down as expected, but with time and special medication eventually the swelling did go down.  His second week  was in a step down trauma unit, and gradually he did recover his speech, the pain subsided and I am so thankful. He was able to go home with supervision. And that was only May!!

I finished my BS in Education this summer, so all summer was very busy with the finishing up of three tiring classes.  I am thrilled that I am finally done!!!!  I don't think I am going for the Master's, it is too expensive and I am burnt out.

I will be updating more in the next few days, financially, health and home will be topics of note.  Right now I am just glad to be back on my blog.  It is like seeing a reliable, comforting friend.

Thoughts

More random thoughts. Ready? Here we go! Thought one: Family Reunion. Tomorrow is the last day for RSVP's. So far we have about 35 members that are attending. 10 members are unable to attend. That leaves about 35-40 unaccounted for. So far.

Thought two: Family Reunion. Awkward moments... I have not seen these people in about 15 years. How do you pick up from the past? What to talk about when you run out of commonalities? Should be interesting. I am bringing my 3 grown children for back-up :) They can be very entertaining.

Thought three: Ebay. Considering an Ebay Store. Pondering..... A Rubber Stamp store? Maybe.
Any Stampers out there? What is your current level of interest in your stamping supplies?

Thought four: Sunday School/ Church tomorrow. gotta get up early.

Thoughts

Thought one: Building stable streams of income from passive sources. This will include online surverys, Ebay, ( I have lots of stamping supplies to get rid of, a hobby that has gone by the way side) and referrals from Ebates.

Thought two: How am I going to keep that stuff organized? The streams of income, I mean. I don't know yet. I do know that Excel is not my friend so I might have to get out my trusty notebook...

Thought three: If I am selling Stampin Up stuff on Ebay, what else can I sell? (Scanning the computer room with a discerning eye?)

Thought Four: I am tired.... Gotta get some sleep.
