I am going to to challenge ( yes.. another challenge... I just can't say no, even to myself:) I am going to challenge myself to start selling AVON to pay down my CC debt (at least half) by Christmas. AACCCKKK! I sold AVON years ago, and did well. It helped me pay some bills when I was in school for ultrasound. Currently, I can't change jobs UNTIL we close on the Short Sale house. My lender frowns on any significant changes in our sources of income, so I feel like I have to do SOMETHING!
Here is the plus side of starting back up in AVON. Low start up costs! Only $10.00 to get started. So, I raided my change cup and counted out $10 in change (see above pic) and went down to the AVON store and signed up! Things I have to watch out for..... Any signs that I will be my Best Customer. I really have to keep that in check. I don't want to waste money on stuff, instead of debts that need to be paid off. The idea is to operate this business with LOW overhead.
Historically, I take on projects and go gangbusters!! And then the interest wanes and I get bored and quit. I am pledging to commit to this personal challenge to reduce my Credit Card debt by half and I
Of course, you will all be witnesses and will have the opportunity to keep me in check. Advice and thoughts welcome.

I have no advice, but congratulations to you on having the gumption. I hope you reach your goal and beyond.
I think that's very gungho of you and I wish you great success - you never know, with such motivation you could do even better than you think! You go girl!!!
I can't believe that the start up is only $10. I'm sure you will do well with it.
Lisa, it sounds like a good way to make extra money and Avon has good products. I've been thinking of selling something on the side myself, but can't decide on what to sell. Best wishes for a successful business!
Good luck Lisa I'm sure that you'll sell lots!
PS. Hope you got my email :)
good on you! it's worth a shot and it's not going to cost you much but some time. good luck!
Sounds like a logical plan to me, especially since you've done it before and know the biz. You have my support!
Good for you! Best of luck. $10 is so cheap to get started. I hope it goes great for you. Keep us posted :)
Thanks for your support everyone! I will definitely keep you posted on my progress. :)
More income is more income! Good for you! I wish you mucho success!!
I think it is wonderful that you want to add income, but I don't think you will make enough from this venture for your time. You are worth more. If you need more money have you ever thought of getting a cleaning contract? Many banks hire someone (who will pass a security check) to clean 3 days a week. This usually will take 1-2 hours and will net about $250.00 a month. Maybe a better use of your time. I have just found that selling anything, Tupperware, Shackley, candles, is a strain on friendships and I always bought too much. But kudos to you for trying!
Good luck! $10 was my initial start up cost for my blog. I thought "what the heck" and figured I really couldn't lose much. It has turned out to be a great decision for me. Your Avon business, at only $10, has similar low-risk involved so I think you should give it a shot. Heck, even if you only make $50 this year that is still PROFIT! :)
Single saver,, It is a low start up cost, and you are right... if I make $50.00, that is more than I had when I started~
Hope it goes well and you sell sell sell. :) Thanks for the visit, I am a new follower. Hope you have a wonderful week.
Good Luck Lisa! Have you thought about instead of selling Avon you could throw more time into online ventures? like aggressively advertising on your site?
