Budget Adjustments.....Again

One thing I have discovered is that budgets are not written in stone. They look great on paper and the planned process of a budget gives a person a feeling of comfort and control. Then… real life occurs and changes come along that bring you right back to square one when it comes to controlling your finances.
I am again going to have to “redo” or “rework” my budget. Changes are necessary due to an increase in my health insurance costs. This increase is going to change my take home pay considerably. This next paycheck (Friday) should be the same as usual. So for January I should be reasonably on track for the debt pay down.

Next month will be completely different. My take home pay will be less, I may or may not be having my surgery mid February (pending short term disability with my new company) So I have no idea how to manage my finances for these changes. Okay... I have an idea or two but have yet to commit to writing them on paper because so many details are left yet undone.

I will be getting my budget notebook out (AGAIN) and make adjustments where I can. I can already see that I will need to push back my debt/project repayment plan just a bit. This is okay. I am blessed to have a job and I know it. The budget details will all work out in the end.

You constantly have to change your budget. Situations change and if you want to do a good job at budgeting, you always have to keep abreast of things and adjust when necessary. That's what I do with my budgetpulse account.

Speaking of changing your budget it's also smart to change your saving practices. I just recently signed up for a new online savings account and thought I'd share what I learned.
Check it out.
Hope this helps someone out there!
