Checking In.....

mom and dad back in the day
The last few days have been crazy busy. My dad's health is quickly declining.  Mom has had to call the Hospice nurses at least once a day to come by and check on him.  His breathing is congested and "gurggly" which is definitely not  a good sign.  Hospice has suggested 24 hour care for dad, but mom does not want that just yet.

My husband and I have
spent evenings after work siting with dad and mom and my days off are also spent at mom and dad's.   I would just pack a bag and stay there but mom is quirky about her independence and we are respecting her wishes.  When she is ready, she will ask for more help.

We stand on the side lines doing what we can and supporting them both as much as possible.  My dad is a fighter and has been for the last 90 years.

I'll keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. I really understand your mom and her will to stay independence and I admire you that you're so patient and respect that. I can only imagine it's not easy so remember we're always here for you! Sending much love!
