What I ended up with was TWO " IceBox" watermelon plants, a yellow squash plant, and a "Big Boy" tomato plant. Total Spent was 12.99 plus tax. I already have some Miracle Gro left over from last year.... So I won't have to spend any additional funds for fertilizer.
I am still looking for a zuchinni plant and I want to get a pumpkin plant as well.... Maybe The Home Depot will have them.
UPDATE: Home Depot did have the zuchinni plants, as well as a cantalope plant. Spent another 9.00 dollars for three plants.

I have decided to start a garden too. Both to save money of the huge amounts of vegetables we buy as well as a hobby and educational exercise for the children. We are hoping to grow cucumbers, courgettes, tomatoes, French beans, potatoes and strawberries. If we find it successful we will try even more things next year.
Hi Rachel..
I am hoping to be able to keep up with the few plants I have.... You sound way more ambitious than me!! Good Luck!
Lisa you do know that buy a pack of seeds for those things besides the tom. plant is cheaper & EASY.
It kills me knowing that these stores sell this stuff when most of it grows nicely in the garden from seed.
Squash family multipy fast so you only need one or two seed hills.
Just buy the seeds you will grow them just nicely. I haven't known anyone that failed at growing that stuff from a seed. Some of that stuff are fall haverting plants so this warm summer weather is perfect.
Barbaralee...
Yes, I do know that I can use packs of seeds.. ( picked up a pack of pumpkin seeds last nite).
Chalk it up to instant gratification and impatience..:)
Thanks for visiting !
