Food Waste Friday: The Hidden Soup

There has not been much cooking going on here this week.  Members from my mom's church have been bringing over meals about every other day.  The dinners that they are providing are so delicious.  You can definitely "taste" the love in their food.  Luckily enough, they are providing enough food that we have leftovers for the next day.

But..... deep in the refrigerator there was a rouge container of leftover homemade chicken noodle soup from last week.   How did we miss that?

Oh well.  We are looking forward to another week of meals provided by the members of the church.  That sure makes my job a little easier around here.  We appreciate all that her church is doing for our family.

One little bowl of soup isn't too bad! :)!

So glad your community is helping you out. It's the little things that can often make a difference between a good day and a bad day.

We have a really helpful Church community too. It always humbles you when people find time to help and serve others. There are lots of good people in this world!!

So nice of your church to bring you meals! Like Sharon I participated in the Food Waste Challenge, and it was eye opening. I don't think we waste much, but it sure adds up over the course of the week. Somewhere I read that you should have a designated shelf on your refrigerator for leftovers; then they don't get lost way in the back.

I'm glad that you had time to join us at Food Waste Friday. I used to live in Houston and know that MD Anderson is tops in cancer treatments. I'm sending positive thoughts your way.

The designated shelf is a good idea! Will have to clear a shelf out!

Hi Lena,
It is a very humbling experience to be on the receiving end of such graciousness.

Sharon, This challenge will definitely make you more conscious of what is in your refrigerator.
